Our mission
Clear information before you install anything
You Rummy exists because searching for a rummy app in India returns a wall of near-identical download pages, each promising guaranteed rewards and none naming the company behind the file. We write the page we wanted to find: what the listing actually says, which permissions it requests, which payment rails it names, and which claims cannot be verified at all.
We are an editorial team, not an operator. Nothing on this site takes a deposit, holds player funds or runs a game. Where a question depends on your state, your device or an operator's current terms, we say that plainly instead of inventing a single confident answer.
Licensing framework
What a licence claim has to show us
A named company and a named regulator
A credible listing identifies the operating company, its registered address, and the regulator or self-regulatory body it answers to. We check that the named body exists and that it publishes a register we can read. A badge image with no issuing authority behind it is decoration, not a licence, and we describe it that way.
Terms that match the marketing
We read the published terms against the promotional copy. Minimum age, eligible states, wagering conditions, expiry dates and withdrawal limits all have to appear in writing. Where real-money play is involved, we note that Indian state law differs and may change, and we point readers at their own state rules rather than a blanket verdict.
Fair play checks
The four technical claims we test
Random number generation
We look for a stated RNG method and an independent testing house that has certified it. An uncertified claim of fairness is recorded as unverified.
Transport encryption
We confirm the site and any download page are served over HTTPS with a valid certificate, and we flag login or payment forms that are not.
Payment partners
We record which rails a listing names, such as UPI, Paytm, PhonePe or net banking, and whether stated fees and withdrawal timelines appear in the terms.
Ongoing monitoring
We re-check permissions, publisher details and payment terms on every update cycle, because an app that was clean at review can change hands or change scope.
Playing well
Responsible gaming tools we look for
- Deposit limits. A daily, weekly or monthly cap the player sets themselves, which takes effect immediately on the way down and only after a cooling-off delay on the way up.
- Playtime reminders. An on-screen notice at an interval the player chooses, showing elapsed session time without being dismissible in a single stray tap.
- Self-exclusion. A documented route to lock an account for a fixed period or permanently, with no marketing contact during the exclusion and no quiet reactivation.
- Real-time support. A support channel reachable while a session is live, so a player who wants to stop is not left waiting on an email queue.
Editorial standards
Who writes this and how to correct us
Every guide on this site is written and signed by the You Rummy Editorial Team, a small group covering card and casual gaming apps for Indian players. Research is done against primary sources: the publisher's own listing, the published terms, the app store record and the relevant state rules. Where a claim has no primary source, we write that it has none.
Update cadence
Each page is re-checked quarterly and re-stamped with a visible last-updated date. Urgent changes to a payment rail, a permission requirement or a state rule are applied as soon as we confirm them.
Corrections
Send the page address and the detail you believe is wrong through customer service. We fix factual errors, note substantive changes on the page, and re-stamp the date.
Independence
No operator can buy a recommendation, a ranking position or the removal of a caution. Commercial arrangements never reach editorial judgement, and we say when something cannot be verified.
